Weird Fact #1


So apparently in France (and, as far as I've heard, some other European countries), there are only certain dates when you are allowed to have sales. I think for Metz, they occur January 3 - February 6. Any other date, everything is full price. Yes, these are the same sales that we have every week and get millions of sales papers for. In some places, they even have parties for the first day of the sales season! For instance, in Paris, the streets are closed because so many people go out for the sales that it's impractical to have the streets open. Also, hardly anything is open on Sundays, not even grocery stores. Pretty strange, huh?
